Day Three - A Loved Son
Hosea 11:1-4 - "When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son... It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by the arms... I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them."
Here we see another picture of God's parental love toward us depicted through the intimacy of Father-son love. It is a picture of a toddler learning to walk and his father holding his hand. He does not know how to feed himself and his father is stooping down to feed him. The father leads him with kindness and love. He frees him from yoke that is weighing him down. How gentle, how patient our Father is towards us.
Responding to the Transmitted Message: Where are you in your Christian life? Are you a baby being fed milk, a toddler who is learning to walk, a teen who is learning responsibility, or an adult? Wherever we are, our Father raises us and provides for us. Let's remember that it is God who takes care of us. When He calls to us, let us respond and go closer to Him, not farther away. We will not find love like this anywhere else.
