Psalm 119:9-16 (NLT) – “How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. I praise you, O LORD; teach me your decrees. I have recited aloud all the regulations you have given us. I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches. I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways. I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word"
Today's Devotional:
We live in a world based in the power structure influences of money, sex, family and career. Everywhere we look in society (i.e. TV, Magazines, Advertisements ...) we encounter sights, sounds, and ideas that tell us to wander from God. How do we stay pure in such a world? We can find our strength to overcome by reading God's word and then doing what it says. The One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world. The Holy Spirit lives in us and empowers us as we trust in His word. Spending more time reading and memorizing His word than watching television, movies or playing video games is a good step in the right direction to living a life filled with the power of His word. Let's start living each day in power.
Responding to the Transmitted Message: Pray and ask the Lord to teach you his ways as you spend more time reading and meditating His word.
