Psalm 1 (TNIV) - "Blessed are those who do not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but who delight in the law of the LORD and meditate on his law day and night. They are like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will be destroyed."
Today's Devotional:
As we face challenging situations and interact with people in our lives, we are confronted with a constant decision to live out what we believe. A person who lives in God's blessing does not look for the approval of others and does not copy the behaviors of this world, but he or she delights in God's word and passionately pursues His ways. This life of obedience to God's word not only leads to blessing, but also to true happiness. As we meditate on God's word, we will be like trees with ever deepening roots that constantly soak up water and produce real fruit. We will be living the only kind of life that truly lasts, and we will be a blessing to others, too.
